The Challenge
As Verizon expanded its newly launched +play platform, one of its earliest entertainment partnerships centered on the release of Marvel's Avengers. The opportunity required introducing customers to a new subscription ecosystem while leveraging the excitement surrounding one of the world's most recognizable entertainment franchises.
The challenge was to create a compelling retail experience that balanced the strength of the Marvel brand with Verizon's business objectives, all within a highly structured partner environment governed by established creative guidelines and a limited set of approved assets.
The work needed to capture attention within the retail space, communicate the customer value proposition quickly, and seamlessly connect the excitement of the game launch to Verizon's evolving entertainment offerings.
The Solution
As the Retail Creative Lead for the campaign, I partnered closely with copywriters, marketers, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop a retail experience that translated the energy of the Marvel universe into a clear and engaging Verizon customer journey.
Working within the digital retail environment, I established the visual direction for the campaign across in-store touchpoints, leveraging approved assets from Marvel and Disney while ensuring the work remained cohesive within Verizon's retail ecosystem. The creative approach focused on simplifying complex promotional messaging through bold visuals, concise copy, and strategically designed moments of discovery throughout the customer experience.
By carefully balancing partner requirements with Verizon's brand standards, the work transformed a licensed entertainment campaign into a retail activation that felt both immersive and purpose-driven.
